Agnes started Lippi Studios with a notion- having a tiny piece of handmade art to carry with you brightens your day, and lifts the spirit. From the upcycled bicycle parts earrings to the recycled copper roofing materials used in the keyfobs, you are sure to find something that speaks to you. Inspired by the beautifully scenic area of historic Honesdale Pa, and enabled by our avid local bicycling community, it’s hard not to be moved to create. I hope you feel the same way. Handmade in the USA means something different to everyone, creation from the heart to stir the soul and move the pedals. Agnes also makes custom pieces and larger orders for cycling events or bike clubs.
All of her stained glass pieces are made the old fashioned way, without the use of a band saw or other electrical apparatuses, just a good traditional glass cutter and some elbow grease. She uses only the highest quality stained glass, which is cut and ground smooth on the edges before a copper foil is applied. Then, each piece of glass and sprocket is soldered using the same traditional lead soldering method which hasn’t changed since created by Tiffany during the Art Nouveau period. Some pieces have a great used and rusty feel, while others are bright and “chromey”, it all depends on one’s taste.
This stained glass piece is a small group of 6 sprockets with a bold and basic color scheme. Strong and vivid when the lit by the sun, it measures 7″ x 12″
